Leave Cancellation Request

Introduction

Once a leave application has been submitted, it can’t be amended. If you need to make changes, you will need to cancel the application and submit a new application.  

Open and closed leave applications can be cancelled by an employer within Online Services. To guide employers through the cancellation process, we have created a digital leave hub, complete with a Quick Guide video and FAQs.


Step 1. Request Cancellation of a Leave Application

To commence the process  

  • Log into Online Services  

  • Go to the Leave Applications tab   

  • Click on the relevant tab – Open, Pending, Closed  

  • Search for the application you want to cancel and click on the case number  

  • Select the Request Cancellation button  

If an application is under review by Coal LSL, the request cancellation button will not be available. In that instance you can send a case message or simply wait for the status to change. 


Step 2. Enter reason for Cancellation

Choose the reason for cancellation  

  • Application Error  

  • Leave Details Have Changed  

  • Leave Not Processing  

  • Other  


Step 3. Review and Submit

Complete the declaration and Request Cancellation.


What happens next?

Depending on the application status, the outcome could be different.    

Open Leave Applications: 

  • if the application hasn’t yet been assigned to a Coal LSL officer, cancellation is immediate, and the application will be moved to the ‘Closed’ tab with a ‘Cancelled’ status. 

 Closed Leave Applications: 

  • the cancellation request will be reviewed by a Coal LSL officer and the application will appear under ‘Pending Cancellation’ tab. Once it is reviewed it will be moved the ‘Closed’ tab with a ‘Cancelled’ status. Any monies paid in relation to closed cases may result in return of those funds. 

Once the application status is ‘Cancelled’, you can submit a new application for similar dates.
