The recent introduction of a new Digital Leave Application process streamlines the way employers submit leave applications and improves communication with employees on the status of their leave application.

For Employers:
Our digital leave application process removes the need for employers to provide Coal LSL with a copy of the written leave application.
Instead, employers submit and manage the leave application within our secure Online Services platform. Automated communication with employees assists with accuracy and improve visibility of the leave application details.
Employers can:
submit leave applications through a digital form, with pre-filled employee details and upfront data validation
increase visibility of the leave application details
utilise a streamlined cancellation process
benefit from automated email notifications sent to employees to show the status of their leave request
What’s new?
simple and user-friendly process
better data validation
greater visibility of applications
easy cancellation request process
What stays the same?
the legislative requirements and obligations for employers and employees remain the same regarding leave applications and payments;
employers must continue to supply an accurate employee email address.
Use of the new Digital Leave Application process commenced on 24 June 2025.

For Employees:

receive email notifications from Coal LSL to help track leave applications
have visibility of details submitted by your employer
have an opportunity to identify and flag inconsistencies earlier in the process.
What’s new?
better communication with timely email updates
greater visibility and opportunity to confirm leave details earlier in the process
